How to Prepare for a GREAT Day!

Hey Everyone! Welcome to my first post totally focused around wanting to have an amazing day. I'm a genuine firm believer that if your day starts off well there is more of a chance of optimistic thoughts for the rest of the day. I also genuinely find that even if something happens that might disturb your day it won't be as bad as it could've been if everything starts off well, but even so if things are going terribly and you need someone just pop an email and I'll be here or you can follow my Instagram @zaheerahoque where you can just pop me  a DM.

So, I've decided to sum up some of the ways I practice staying optimistic and preparing myself for the day ahead. Now I'd like to point out that most of these are personal to me and I can't say they will help you but try them out and let me know in the comments below :).
1. Be consistent with the time you wake up!
One thing I have found that definitely makes a difference is sticking to a good timetable. The mind likes patterns, so by keeping a consistent time for which you wake up it will be good for your mentality. But that also means you have to sleep at a good time too! Don't go to bed at 1am and expect to wake at 7am because 6 hours of sleep each night will do nothing but bad for you. And I get it, sometimes you may sleep late, but it is a terrible habit and needs to be changed. Ultimately, you NEED a good night sleep just as much, if not more, than having a pattern that you stick to.

So, figure out a time. School or work starts at 9? So wake at 7 and during the holidays keep it the same. I've been there done that, everyone starts sleeping late and waking even later...just a little warning it will only be harder when it's time to get back into it again.

2. Prepare a to-do list the night before
Something I've found EXTREMELY helpful, especially since I was supposed to have my GCSEs this year, was making a good checklist the night before. Since September I had made a checklist on my phone and on my whiteboard of all the things I would want completed the next day the night before. This meant that the next day would be productively planned out and everything would be clear. Honestly, you may find that choosing what order you want your list completed in helps; for me personally I didn't find this helpful as I found it
restricts me making the day a bit harder.

It also needs to be said: Do NOT make the list crazy long! By making the list too long you will make yourself feel under pressure to have to complete it all and it will create unnecessary stress that you, honestly, don't need.

3. Wake up and do a workout!
Whether it be 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes or even an hour try to attempt some sort of workout
each morning. Not only is it good for your body physically but it also is good for one's
mental health. Exercise is scientifically proven to help with both physical and mental health
and don't restrict yourself. Remember it ranges from yoga to football to self defence
and it can honestly be anything you want it to be. By getting a good routine into your
morning you will start to see that each morning you'll feel more alive as it helps to wake you up each day.

These past few days I've gotten myself into a good twenty minute workout from when I wake before showering so that I know I'm making myself healthier but I also feel like I've become more productive.

4. Have a healthy breakfast!
I'm going to be honest with you all, having breakfast is one of the more difficult things I've tried to get into it. But it is one of the most important things that need to be done. Though I always get in a good latte or cappuccino each morning as Breakfast is THE most important meal of the day as it fuels you for the rest of the day. And making sure it is healthy (especially after you workout) will make you feel even better. Especially in the long run you'll realise it's better for you than the tonnes of sugar that comes in lots of different breakfast foods.

One of the things that is super healthy but also quite tasty is the avocado toast, which is literally avocado..on toast. Some people do choose to put an egg on top for that extra
protein and lifestyle blogger and vlogger, Amanda Asad, has some sort of topping for it too which is a mix of spices (I can't quite remember what it is!)

5. Make your bed!
I know it sounds simple, and honestly it is, but it is quite important that your room is clean
and organised. I read a quote once, and it reminded me of one of my sisters, but it stated:
'The state of your bedroom reflects the state of your mind.' And, truth be told, I don't think
I've ever read anything more truthful because just think about it.

Picture your bedroom perfectly clean and everything is exactly where you know it. The
rug has been hoovered and the pillows have been plumped. The sun is shining creating a
brightness which lights up your mind. Now, if the state of your bedroom reflects the state of
your mind, then really and truly everything will be organised and clear and you'll feel more optimistic.

It may sound crazy, but it really does help.

That is five of my top tips for if you plan for a good day, which should be everyday. Take it from one with experience, by starting your day off good you're preparing yourself for a good day altogether and you'll start to realise that it is something that you'll appreciate more as it becomes more apparent.

Maybe I'll do another one of these posts for preparing for a good day because as I wrote this I actually quite enjoyed it. Also, I genuinely feel like these tips are some of the best tips I've used because I used to have terrible days but now that I've started using most of these tips I've found that my days have been much better. If you have any more tips that you'd like to share with everyone feel free to leave them in the comments and I'll reply to all that I see.

Don't forget to follow my Instagram @zaheerahoque , and I'll see you all next Saturday where I plan to talk about how
you can study efficiently!
